Bird Rock Parking SubCommittee
SubCommittee formed to determine appropriate parking regulations for 5200 through 5700 blocks of La Jolla Boulevard affected by the traffic calming improvements. Considerations include: Time-limit parking, 15-minute parking, loading zones, handicape zones, red curbs, etc. SubCommittee is chaired by Paul Metcalf and is comprised of equal mix of merchants and residents. Merchants are being interviewed one on one to learn of their unique needs. Curb painting slated for week of May 19.Work complete except cleaning up some loose ends and errors in painting

La Jolla Community Parking District
The City of San Diego and the community of La Jolla worked together to form a Community Parking District that covers all of La Jolla, including Bird Rock. Paul Metcalf represents Bird Rock on the Advisory Board with Joe LaCava as alternate. Update posted March 2008.

Bird Rock PDO
The BRCC formed a PDO Sub-Committee to determine if changes should be made to the La Jolla Planned District Ordinance as it applied to the Bird Rock commercial district. Work completed February 2006, currently not active.

Birdrock Beautification Project
The Birdrock Beautification Committee (BRBC) was established to develop, review, and help implement the landscaping element of the Traffic Calming Plan. Work completed with community vote to approve the maintenance assessment district August 2005.

Sewer Replacement Project
Bird Rock Sewer Replacement Project. Phase 1 work completed in 2004. 2nd phase in La Jolla Boulevard completed Fall 2007, residential streets completed Fall 2007, La Jolla Mesa completed April 2008. No further work is planned.
