Items in the raffle include donations from local San Diego companies such as Old Globe Theater, Hornblower Cruises, California Ballet Company, etc. Look for several donations from local boutiques such as Stephanies Shoes, Bird Rock Bikini, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, and some of your favorite restaurants.
Raffle ticket prices: $5 - 7 raffle tickets, $10 - 15 raffle tickets, $15 - 25 raffle tickets.

A new component of this year's Taste of Bird Rock offers the community and merchants the opportunity to sponsor a Bird Rock Elementary classroom. 100% of your donation will be used to purchase necessary supplies. Your sponsorship will be posted in the classroom you support, and students will have the opportunity to personally thank you for your donation. Local merchants will have the option of hanging their sponsored classroom’s artwork at their place of business so patrons

| | | Boulevard Construction Nearly Done |

Contractor continues with the landscaping, although very slowly. It appears that concrete and paving work is done. Construction equipment and material at the corner of Bird Rock Ave and the boulevard will be removed before the Taste of Bird Rock event, hopefully much sooner.
The contractor completed the paving and striping, the boulevard is fully open for use. Spot work continues to fix problems, complete the pedestrian crossings, install signage, and finish landscape and irrigation ...more |

| | | Neighborhood Traffic Calming Improvements |

Remaining work on La Jolla Mesa Drive and La Jolla Hermosa.
New Medians on La Jolla Mesa Drive: The contractor will begin constructing the median on La Jolla Mesa Drive the week of June 30, 2008. This work is expected to take approximately 3 to 5 weeks.
La Jolla Hermosa Roundabout: Construction of the roundabout on La Jolla Hermosa is also scheduled to begin the week of June 30. This work will take approximately 2 months to complete.
